Historical research has shown that this border cost at least 900 human lives. Today it is a peaceful trace in the landscape. However, without the former border fortifications, the fences and watchtowers, this trace of the past is often difficult to detect at first glance.

This brochure is intended to assist you in your search for traces of the past in one of Germany's most moving commemorative landscapes!
